The proliferation of smart cards in today’s world provides get benefits to both the consumer and the issuer of the cards. Contact smart cards communicate with the card reader through direct physical contact using the embedded metallic chip contact pad located in the card. When the card is inserted into the card reader, this enables the transfer of data between the two.
